TheCarConnection is reporting that VW will introduce Jetta model year 2008 with 50 states clean diesel engines.
The engine will be a common-rail 2.0-liter diesel four with 140 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque. An oxygen after-treatment system and a particulate filter will be used to meet 50-state diesel emission requirements. VW says that the new engine’s fuel economy and NVH will be significantly improved over the former 1.9-liter diesel engine.
Expect the sedan and wagon models in showrooms March 2008.

EVO said that Subaru wields the ugly stick when showing their first pictures of the redesigned 2008 Impreza hatchback.
The pictures above aren’t the “Holly Grail STi” that everyone expects, but an individual effort by Lars Mårtensson, a 3D modeler.
We know Subaru gave the ongoing WRC/STi design work to a separate team inside the company, but here’s hoping they get inspired for the “next facelift”.
