Nice day

Just had lunch with Lu at Cafe Republique on Peel and walked home on St Cat-Atwater-etc ...

It is simply beautiful weather. The loft, with south-western facing, was at 22c when I got in, an overwhelming heat. Balcony door is open, sun and breeze. Almost ... er I won't say it, it might just jinx.

Nice day.

Fuel Prices at the Pump

In the 'Wa, Ottawa that is, you can check online for fuel prices.

So far the best I have found the rest of Canada is much less useful.

Fuel Economy

Ever wonder how the prices at the pump get so high ?
Ever wonder if the old adage that Taxes are the main slice true ?

Well, in my search for low-sulphur petrol and diesel information, I came accross this from Shell.ca

Montreal's BioBus

I'm surprised that my hometown is ahead of the curve, by that I mean the regulations and standards, when it comes to using lower-pollution diesel fuel.

"In Quebec, the transportation sector alone accounts for nearly 40% of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The different levels of government are firmly resolved to reduce GHG emissions. This resolve is borne out by Canadian and Quebec action plans to fight against climate change, in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol."

Looking to build a Stylesheet

Movable Type comes with some nifty and clean page Stylesheets, but none really match my desire. I wonder how many hours I will throw away working on this. I still like the postcard inspired style I use on coffeehaus.com, though without the obvious stamps, it misses out.

Rambling

Lightspeedchick asked me on TheGang list if I'm not ready to start a "blog". I think she was just hinting how most of my recent e-mails are simply informational ramblings of an unemployed mind, and more apropriate in entertaining a unprepared public. Then again, she laughs at people who trip.

I replied off-handedly that "the thought had occurred, but that no system of self-publication really appealed to me". Of course, that is simply not true, but lack of motivation and old fashioned laziness prevented me from even trying anymore. "Trying" is very sarcastic word among TheGang. On so many levels.

So, unto Movable Type and this weblog. I apologise in advance for my upcoming life as text diatribes.
