Shell Canada has settled a class-action suit with customers in all Canadian provinces save Quebec: vehicle fuel gauges or pumps were gummed up by a gasoline additive
“A company spokeswoman said a separate lawsuit involving Quebec customers remains unsettled.”
A copy of the settlement agreement is posted on the Internet at www.shell.ca. Customers with questions can contact Shell at 1-866-691-2697.
Posted by petergun at January 11, 2004 12:42 PMWhats new? I worked in a Shell station in the '60's and any engine we tore down for overhaul was a regular customer's. They always had a "shell" of carbon build-up in the combustion chamber - thats why I thought they named the company "Shell"!
It was excellent fuel to gum up an engine in those days, and apparently it still is!
