Well, I’m on a movie kick, as my usual intake of Teevee is delayed as some shows have off-weeks … and soon everything stops until the fall. In the meantime, with the gracious loan of a boat-load of DVDs from friends ( props to Ogre and Mimi ), I finally got to see Amelie.
I heard sooo much about it … heck, I almost made-up what the movie must be like and got it all wrong.
My first impression, after the end titles are rolling by … is that I watched a “Classic Italian” movie, but with a French play-by-play, instead of the absolute silence of those black-and-whites.
I enjoyed this movie, smiled at it all, but I note the “spoon-fed” methods they chose and wonder if that was for the audiences benefit or deterrent ?
